HONDURAS

Here is some preliminary information on the medical mission to Honduras. We are in need of doctors, nurses, optometrists, and dentists for San Jeronimo  & San Antonio de la Cuesta and the people of the mountain.

NEEDED FOR MEDICAL MISSIONS IN HONDURAS: DOCTORS, NURSES, DENTISTS ETC.

Dates:

                                  11 - 18 January 2012 San Jeronimo

18 -25 July 2012 San Antonio de la Cuesta

Cost:                         $375 per person per trip (does not include airfare,                                     passport, or $35 export tax)

Items needed:            Medicines for local distribution, supplies for local infirmary,
                                 health hygiene accessories etc.

Information:

The people in La Cuesta do not have much in the form of medical treatment…they have nothing in the mountains.  In a social humanitarian project, a university from Holland has constructed a clinic in the community, but there are no doctors, nurses, dentists, equipment, or supplies for this establishment.  The community has asked if we could put together a team from the medical society to help them out.  They would like doctors, nurses, optometrists and dentists to come in and exam their people, to teach on health subjects such as hygiene, and to help the people understand what it means to have a better quality of life in respect to health related issues.

The Trip:

This is a no thrills trip.  We will be in the mission field.  It means that we will be with the people and among the people.  The $375 cost to The Isaiah Connection covers transportation in the country, your meals, and the building we will be housed in.  Note, we will not be staying in hotels or eating at fancy restaurants.  It means that you may be sleeping in a sleeping bag on a cot or a mat on the floor.  There will be showers, but there may not be hot water.

Contributions:

Any donations of medical supplies, materials, etc. can be given as a tax donation through The Isaiah Connection.

Additional Info:

Occurring in conjunction with the medical mission work will be conducting some simple work projects, building community relations, cooking for the crews, and children’s outreach.
